Construction
equipment is quite common especially if your place is near a construction site
or if you are working in the construction industry. They have been created to
build infrastructure bigger, faster, and safer. What you don’t know about such
equipment is they have extraordinary facts you won’t believe are real. Get to
know the real “big” in the construction industry with two of the largest equipment
known in history.
For instance, did
you know that the largest land vehicle in the entire world is an excavator? Yes.
According to experts, the Excavator 288 or also known as Bagger 288 is today’s
world’s largest land vehicle. It weighs 13, 500 tons and can excavate 240,000
tons of coal. Imagine an entire soccer field dug to 30 m deep. Because of its
popularity, it was featured on two movies. In case you have not noticed, it was
featured on the Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance film and was also featured on
the sequel of The Hunger Games, Catching Fire.
If there’s such
thing as biggest land vehicle, there’s also what we call the largest bulldozer.
Built in Italy, it weighs 183 tons and is powered by two Caterpillar engines.
It is over 40 feet tall and has a blade that is 23 feet wide and 9 feet high.
Experts claim that this is the largest bulldozer ever built in human history. Unlike
the excavator, there is no known record if it has been featured in any movie or
film.
