The first tallest skyscraper in the world was the Equitable Life Building, a commercial building located in New York. It was the tallest building from 1870 to 1884.

From 1870 to 1998, all the tallest buildings in the world were found in the USA. Malaysia and Taiwan became home to the world’s tallest buildings in the late 1990’s and 2000’s. During this time, no one could have predicted that the United Arab Emirates would soon boast of being the country with the most number of tallest buildings.

At present, out of the 20 tallest buildings in the world, 4 are found in the UAE, with highest one found in Dubai. Below is a list of the top 3 tallest buildings found in Dubai:

1. The Burj Khalifa.
This skyscraper is currently the tallest manmade structure in the world. Its construction was completed in 2010. It stands at 828 metres and houses 163 floors.

2. The Princess Tower.
This tower is the world’s tallest all-residential building. This building was completed in 2012. Its height is 414 metres and has 101 floors.

3. 23 Marina. Dubai’s third tallest building, 23 Marina’s construction began in 2012. It has 89 floors and stands at 395 metres. Upon completion, 23 Marina will have 57 functional swimming pools.
